Bringing more than 25 years of commercial real estate experience to the company, Mr. Norton joined Binswanger in 2001 as Senior Vice President. Responsible for advisory and industrial brokerage, Mr. Norton and his team provide a full range of real estate services in the Minnesota, Illinois, Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin markets. He is clearly experienced with site selection, tenant representation, acquisition and disposition of large commercial properties in the Upper Midwest. He and his team have successfully completed projects including the sale and leasing of several million square feet on behalf of clients such as Modine Manufacturing, Cima Labs, Winnebago, Comcast, Unilever, Pella Windows, Fingerhut, Pfizer, Bridgestone, Deere & Company, C&S Wholesale Grocers Inc., Gehl Company, Fiskars, Quebecor Worldwide and Cummins, Inc. Locally, he assisted in the acquisition of the 701 Building and the sale of the Foshay Tower, both of which buildings are located in downtown Minneapolis.
Before joining Binswanger, Mr. Norton was a principal of Brookshire Commercial, where he provided local and national full service real estate representation for a wide range of clients. Prior to establishing Brookshire Commercial, he was a Senior Consultant with United Properties, where his outstanding performance warranted him the Off Shore Club award for top production for five consecutive years and distinction by CityBusiness as one of the top commercial real estate brokers in Minnesota.
Mr. Norton is an honors graduate of Bethel College where he earned a B.A. in Business Administration. He is an active member of Rotary International where he has served as a past board member as well as various committee positions including chairing the Annual Rotary Fundraiser Committee that raised record funds for the Club two years in a row. He is past committee member of NAIOP and Vistage International. Gerry has also been a member of Mendakota Country Club, a private golf club, where he chaired several committees, a member of the Board of Directors for six years, and Club President in 2004-2005. In his own community, he has also been a past board member of the Lakeville Lacrosse Association.
