Charles Upchurch
Vice President, Management Services

Based in the Charlotte office, Charles Upchurch is responsible for overseeing project management activities. He has more than 16 years of experience in project design, project development, and project management.

Mr. Upchurch is currently working with Appalachian State University Athletic Department on the development of a new 114,000 sq. ft. Athletic Operations and Administration Facility which will include new football support facilities, administrative offices, club and suite level seating for fans, and game day operations facilities.

Mr. Upchurch recently managed the construction of the 116,000 sq. ft. Vaughn Towers facility, a new media center and luxury suite addition, at Carter-Finley Stadium in Raleigh, NC for The Wolfpack Club and NC State University. He has completed various office and industrial projects with Binswanger; including an 80,000 sq. ft. world headquarters for CommScope in North Carolina, an 80,000 sq. ft. office building for SCT Utility Systems in Columbia, South Carolina, a 40,000 sq. ft. office and manufacturing facility for Keller Technology in Charlotte, a 250,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility for Commscope, and various technical and call center projects throughout the Southeast for Comcast Cable. Prior to joining Binswanger, Mr. Upchurch worked as a Registered Architect with ADW Architects in Charlotte, NC and CGLS Architects in Atlanta, GA on a variety of project types including school, civic, religious, and hospitality projects.

Mr. Upchurch is certified as a LEED Accredited Professional by the USGBC. Mr. Upchurch is professionally trained as an Architect and holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Auburn University with a minor in business.
