Energy & Sustainability Expert Andrew Bakey Joins Binswanger’s Board of Experts

PHILADELPHIA, PA – APRIL 28, 2025 – Binswanger, a leader in industrial real estate since 1931, today announced the appointment of Andrew Bakey to its Board of Experts, a specialized group of industry professionals providing advanced technical insights and strategic solutions to help clients optimize real estate and operational efficiencies. With deep expertise in energy procurement, sustainability planning, and energy efficiency, Bakey brings extensive knowledge in renewable energy integration and cost-saving energy strategies.

As President of Bakey Energy, Bakey has advised businesses on electricity and gas procurement, behind-the-meter solar installations, Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), and smart grid optimization. His expertise in battery storage, cogeneration, and solar landfill projects has helped organizations reduce energy expenses while enhancing sustainability and resilience.

Prior to founding Bakey Energy, he held leadership positions at PECO Energy, PPL EnergyPlus, Reliant Energy, Engie, and Dynegy, serving as Director of Sales. His career has focused on integrating green technologies into retail energy strategies, leveraging real-time and day-ahead price signals to drive cost efficiency and sustainability.

Bakey holds a Mechanical Engineering degree from Villanova University and an MBA in Finance from Temple University. He has also earned an Energy Management diploma from the University of Wisconsin and holds a Professional Engineering License in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware. His industry certifications include Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Certified Energy Procurement Professional (CEP), and Green Building Engineer (GBE) from the Association of Energy Engineers.
