Security & Threat Assessment Leader Jason Russell Joins Binswanger’s Expanding Board of Experts
PHILADELPHIA, PA – AUG. 19, 2025 – Binswanger, a global leader in specialized commercial and industrial real estate, is proud to welcome Jason Russell, nationally recognized expert in security consulting and threat mitigation, to its Board of Experts. Now more than 20 members strong and actively expanding, the Board brings together elite professionals across diverse disciplines to provide strategic guidance to clients with highly specialized real estate, infrastructure, and operational needs.
Russell is the Founder and President of Secure Environment Consultants (SEC), where he leads a team of former Secret Service agents, law enforcement officers, and military personnel in delivering White House-caliber security assessments and protection protocols to corporations, high-security facilities, and public institutions. He is a trusted advisor in crisis scenarios, having supported organizations across the country in emergency preparedness, active shooter prevention, and behavioral threat assessment.
“Jason brings deep experience to our Board of Experts in the field of risk assessment and mitigation as well as corporate security design and implementation,” said Ken Anthony, Managing Director of the Board. “This additional specialization will provide our clients with advisory for the protection of mission-critical facilities, higher-risk environments, and key personnel.”
Prior to founding SEC, Russell served for nearly a decade as a Special Agent with the U.S. Secret Service, where he was assigned to protect Presidents, Vice Presidents, and foreign dignitaries. His additional roles included Lead Instructor at the International Law Enforcement Academy and member of the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. Earlier in his career, he served with the Lansing Police Department and on the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force.
Russell’s impact extends beyond law enforcement. He was appointed by Governor Gretchen Whitmer to Michigan’s School Safety and Mental Health Commission and worked directly with state legislators to secure funding for K-12 security assessments. He is also a frequent keynote speaker and adjunct professor, training thousands in critical incident response and de-escalation tactics.
“I’m excited to join the extensive roster of technical experts on Binswanger’s Board of Experts and to contribute my experience in physical security and emergency preparedness to advise clients facing complex risk scenarios,” said Russell.
