Binswanger Adds Real Estate Development Expert Ashton Simmons to its Mid-Atlantic Brokerage Team

PHILADELPHIA, PA – July 29, 2025 – Binswanger, a global leader in specialized commercial and industrial real estate, today announced that Ashton Simmons has joined the company as a Vice President, strengthening its Mid-Atlantic team with nearly 25 years of nationwide real estate experience.

Simmons brings a proven track record in development, leasing, and property management across retail, multifamily, industrial, and office sectors. Throughout his career, he has led and contributed to over $1 billion in ground-up and major redevelopment projects. He is especially known for his ability to reposition and revitalize shopping centers on both coasts, while cultivating strong relationships with municipalities and community stakeholders to unlock long-term value.

Prior to joining Binswanger, Simmons served as President of Operations for SHIFT Capital, an impact real estate development firm and held senior roles at Brookfield, CenterCal Properties, Seritage Growth Properties, and LBG Real Estate Companies. In addition to his industry work, he is an Adjunct Professor of Law at the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University, where he teaches a Real Estate Development Law Seminar.

Simmons holds a J.D. from Hofstra University School of Law, an M.B.A. from Keller Graduate School of Management at DeVry University, and a B.S. in International Finance from Morgan State University. He is a licensed real estate salesperson in Pennsylvania and a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC).
