David Binswanger Appointed to Executive Committee of the Chamber of Commerce for Greater Philadelphia
David Binswanger, Managing Director, has been appointed to the Executive Committee of the Chamber of Commerce for Greater Philadelphia. In this role, he will collaborate with fellow business leaders to help shape the Chamber’s strategic direction, strengthen the region’s economy, and advance initiatives that foster growth and innovation.
David has been an active member of the Chamber for more than 20 years, continuing a proud family tradition of leadership within the organization. His father, John Binswanger, served as Chair of the Chamber in the late 1990s and received the William Penn Award in 2002, Philadelphia’s most prestigious recognition for civic and business leadership. That honor echoed back a generation earlier, when David’s grandfather and Binswanger’s founder, Frank Binswanger, Sr., was also Chamber Chair and the William Penn Award recipient in 1977.
“I am honored to join the Executive Committee,” said David Binswanger. “Community has always been a critical pillar in our family’s business, and the Chamber is central to our city’s success. I look forward to taking on additional responsibilities that I hope will help to strengthen our region’s economic vitality, attract new opportunities, and ensure Philadelphia thrives for generations to come.”
Over the decades, David has been involved in many of the largest real estate deals across the Delaware Valley, including the corporate homes of Comcast, Cencora, Independence Blue Cross, Aramark, and Sunoco. Very recently, he helped Merck with its $1 billion investment in Wilmington, DE.
In addition to his leadership at Binswanger, David has been deeply engaged in both the professional and civic life of the city and beyond. He is a founding member of the Wharton Business School Real Estate Center, a former International Board Member of the Young Presidents’ Organization, and an active member of CoreNet Global and the National Association of Office and Industrial Parks.
David has also dedicated significant time to charitable and civic causes. He has served on the boards of the Eagles Charitable Foundation, the Philadelphia Award, the Pennsylvania Youth Choirs (a founding member), and the Center for Autistic Children. He served on the Thomas Jefferson University Board for nearly 20 years and was its chairman for five, helping to initiate the tremendous growth the institution has been experiencing.
